Century Electric Promotes From Within:
John Storey and Scott Poquette Named as Vice
Presidents
May 6, 2014 Cedar Knolls, N.J: Century Electric, the commercial electrical construction firm responsible for building electrical systems for well-known properties such as Morristown
Medical Center and Liberty Science Center, has promoted Scott Poquette and John
Storey, two of its lead Project Managers, to Vice Presidents.
Founded in 1983, President Neil Vitale’s vision was to create a company
of employees focused on delivering the highest quality work and exceeding
customer expectations. “I founded this firm on the premise that teamwork and
collaboration not only make Century Electric a great place to work, but enable
us to deliver the best design/build electrical contracting solutions for our
clients. Scott and John have been instrumental in helping me execute this vision which has resulted in long-term relationships with satisfied clients and tremendous growth for our
business.”
John Storey earned his electrical contractor’s license in 1983 and spent 17 years as
President of Current Electric in Morristown, N.J.
John joined the leadership team of Century Electric in 2000.
His extensive knowledge is particularly valuable to clients with complex
needs ranging from installation of process lines to complete fit outs for
laboratories and data centers in the manufacturing and pharmaceutical
sectors. John is responsible for executing major design build projects, including coordinating schedules, manpower, and material needs with project managers, engineers and
architects. His problem solving skills have enabled him to build long-term relationships with his customers who have been Century Electric clients throughout John’s tenure with the firm. “I came to Century Electric to build a team of experts that would ensure our long term success.
During a time when many companies are struggling, we’ve been able expand our business and our
organization.”
After earning his engineering degree in 1992, Scott Poquette started working for
Century Electric as a Project Engineer/Manager where he was responsible for all
phases of managing electrical construction projects including estimating,
purchasing, and engineering. He left in 1996 and served as a Vice President for a large New York electrical contractor, but returned to Century Electric in April, 2012. “I believe Century is positioned perfectly for the future of this industry and that my experience and education is a perfect fit to help Century Electric grow.” Poquette is a graduate of NJIT and holds a Masters in Engineering
Management.
Last year, Century Electric celebrated its 30th Anniversary. The success of
the firm is due to its relentless pursuit of excellence. Committed to providing the right solutions for each customer and delivering those solutions with the highest level of workmanship, Century
Electric has completed projects for leading companies in the corporate, commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, educational and health care sectors.
