Century Electric’s Team Expands
New Jersey commercial construction has been hard hit since the 2008 market crash and resulting recession, with electrical contracting and construction firms taking a huge blow. Despite all that, Century Electric has found a way to not only succeed but grow and add employees in 2012. The keys to success are simple: loyalty and teamwork... and providing our customers with quality, dedication and exemplary customer service. Through these simple values we have earned an impeccable reputation throughout the industry, and attracted top talent to our staff.
In mid-2012, Scott Poquette left his 16-year tenure at Mehl Electric, where he served as senior vice president, to re-join our team and become part of senior management. Poquette started with Century Electric over 20 years ago as an estimator and project engineer. With a B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology, he left to broaden his experience and education. Since being with Century he has received his MS in Engineering Management and became an instructor for the apprenticeship program at Local Union #52 (later merged with Local Union #164). We are happy to have Scott back on the team and welcome the breadth and depth of experience he brings with him.
The hiring of Poquette is in keeping with Century Electric’s philosophy of traditional values. It has let us grow despite the hard economic times, and we continue to believe completely in integrity, dedication and loyalty, both to our customers and our people.
